The Coldest Winter is a Summer in San Fransisco

Matthew and I went to San Fransisco in August for summer vacation and to celebrate Matthew's birthday, and our one year anniversary of our first date! We did a lot of fun things this trip, although San Fransisco is FREEZING! Mark Twain said "the Coldest Winter i ever experienced, was a summer in San Fransisco." He wasn't lying.

Matthew was DYING to see some HUGE redwood trees. We went to Muir Woods and were able to see some of the trees that grow over 300 feet tall, but they didn't have any that were so big around, you can drive a car through the middle of them. It was still an amazing sight to see. These redwood trees were still huge, gorgeous, and fascinating!

On August 11th, which was Matthew's birthday, and our one year anniversary from our first date, we took a romantic day trip down Highway 1, which is the highway that traces the coast of the Pacific Ocean, all the way down to Monteray Bay. We had a romantic evening at the bay, ate at a delicious restaurant there at the Bay, walked on the beach under the moonlight, sand in the toes, all that good stuff. Stayed in a Hotel and went to the Monteray Bay Aquarium the following day. It was such an adorable, quaint, romantic place to be. We had such a great time!

  1. The important question is - did you make peace with the stingrays again?

  2. Great pictures. I love the San Francisco Valley. Nate and I went to Carmel, CA for our honeymoon which is about 45 min away from there. We had so much fun. We also visited Big Sir Nat'l Forest to see the Redwood trees as well.
